WHY Freedom?

Why Freedom?

Freedom was Jesus’ mission. In Luke 4, Jesus said He came to set the captives free. In John 8, it says, “Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.” We believe we were created to be free!

So many people live under their desires, lies, and even religion. And just as freedom was Jesus’ mission, it’s ours too. We exist to help people live fully and freely in Jesus. We don’t believe this happens through behavior modification, but through the power of the Holy Spirit. As it says in 2 Corinthians 3:17, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

Freedom is at the core of being a believer, and we’re dedicated to helping people live in that freedom in every walk of life.

Why Sheboygan?

The Apples have always felt a call and a pull toward Sheboygan—a city that has never left their hearts. When praying about where to go, God made it abundantly clear in many ways that this was the city for Freedom Church.

Sheboygan is a city in need of freedom. Across the county, only 2% attend a Pentecostal church. Adverse Childhood Experiences are a major issue among kids in Sheboygan County. Alcoholism, mental illness, and drug addiction are racking this community. The need is huge—and this group of believers is going to be a part of the greater plan God has for Sheboygan County.
